Under the chairmanship of Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the COVID-19 Follow-up Committee held its 67th meeting today. During the meeting, all relevant COVID-19 updates and reports were reviewed. The committee discussed the epidemiological situation globally, as well as the cases reported locally. All precautionary measures carried out at the points of entry into the Kingdom will continue in full and will be further enhanced, the committee stressed. The Committee praised the citizens and expatriates for abiding by the curfew, urging all to stay at home. Following the meeting, a press conference was held during which Spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali said that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide is more than 2,900,000 cases, of which 827,000 cases have been cured to date. The COVID-19 death toll has jumped to 203,000. Dr. Al-Abdulaali also said that 1223 new cases were reported today in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These new cases were reported in Makkah (272), Riyadh (267), Madinah (217), Jeddah (117), Baish (113), Unaizah (54), Dammam (51), Buraidah (20), Jubail (19), Hofuf (17), Bqeeq (17), Al-Aridhah (14), Taif (10), Abu Arish (10), Tabuk (3), Khulais (3), Zulfi (3), Sajir (3), Qatif (2), Hafar Al-Batin (2), Wadi Al-Dawasir (2), Qurayyat (2), Jazan (1), Khamis Mushait (1), Al-Majaridah (1), Arar (1) and Al-Khobar (1). Dr. Al-Abdulaali also said that the total cases tested positive for COVID-19 in the Kingdom reached 17,522 cases, of which 15,026 cases are active cases receiving medical care, and their health condition is mostly stable; with the exception of 115 cases receiving intensive care. The number of new recoveries is 142, bringing the total recoveries to 2357 cases. The number of new deaths is 3, bringing the total deaths to 139 cases.
