Under the chairmanship of Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the COVID-19 Follow-up Committee held its 75th meeting today. During the meeting, all relevant COVID-19 updates and reports were reviewed. The committee discussed the epidemiological situation globally, as well as the cases reported locally. All precautionary measures carried out at the points of entry into the Kingdom will continue in full and will be further enhanced, the committee stressed. The Committee praised the citizens and expatriates for abiding by the curfew, urging all to stay at home. Following the meeting, Assistant Minister of Health and Spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali said that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide is 3,523,121 cases, of which 1,130,996 cases have been cured to date. The COVID-19 death toll has jumped to 247,838. Dr. Al-Abdulaali also said that 1645 new COVID-19 cases were reported today in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, adding that the new cases were reported in Makkah (287), Dammam (261), Jeddah (261), Jubail (217), Madinah (152), Hofuf (133), Riyadh (131), Baish (53), Khobar (26), Taif (14), Safwa (13), Yanbu (9), Qunfidhah (9), Nairyah (8), Qurayyat (7), Majaridah (6), Rabigh (6), Zulfi (5), Diriyah (5), Jafr (4), Dhahran (4), Tabuk (4), Arar (4), Kharj (4), Qatif (3), Buraidah (3), Khamis Mushait (1), Mahayel Asir (1), Bqeeq (1), Ras Tanura (1), Ras (1), Unaizah (1), Khulais (1), Khaybar (1), Edabi (1), Dharma (1), Sabya (1), Hafar Al-Batin (1), Hail (1), Najran (1), Tabarjal (1) and Hottah Bani Tamem (1). Dr. Al-Abdulaali pointed out that the total cases tested positive for COVID-19 in the Kingdom reached 28,656 cases, of which 23,989 cases are active cases receiving medical care, and their health condition is mostly stable; with the exception of 143 cases receiving intensive care. The number of new recoveries is 342, bringing the total recoveries to 4,476 cases. The number of new deaths is 7, bringing the total deaths to 191 cases.
