Aijaz Ahmed Khan JEDDAH — Jawar Al-Jazirah defeated Tamar by 6 wickets and Kanoo stunned a strong ICC Irfan Basha Cricketers by a margin of 33 runs in the 8th week matches of the Ace Premier League, which is sponsored by Ace Travels & Tours and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA). In the first match, Tamar batted first and posted 206-6. Afroz blasted 22 off 9 balls (3x6), Anwar Khan made 23 (5x4), Ashfaq 48 in 27 balls (7x4, 1x6), Waseem 13, Naveed 49 off 21 balls (3x6, 4x4) and Aqeel 11. Asim grabbed 3-36, while Zahid, Shaun and Adil got one wicket apiece. In reply, after Shaun departed without scoring, Asim made 63 off 23 balls (6x4, 1x6). Amir Shahzad faced 22 balls for his 38 with 6 fours. Adil made 48 off 32 deliveries (4x4, 1x6) and Usman remained unbeaten on 38 with three sixes. Jawar Al-Jazirah scored the required runs with 2 overs and 6 wickets in hand. Ashfaq of Tamar claimed 3-52 and Waseem took one wicket. In the second match, which was a low-scoring affair, bowlers from both the teams dominated. Kanoo was restricted to 164-8 by ICC Irfan Basha. For Kanoo, Tabriz scored 22, Mansoor contributed a run-a-ball 31, Najam hit 5 fours and a six for his 37, Majid added 14, Arshad blasted 22 in 11 balls (2x6, 1x4) and Faheem made 14 (3x4). Irfan claimed 2-32, Sadiq 3-43 and Atta 2-35. In reply, ICC Irfan Basha batsmen took it lightly and changed the batting order altogether. Atta opened the innings and was sent back to pavilion for 5 by Mansoor, who also dismissed Irfan. Raheel was also the victim of tight and penetrative bowling of Mansoor. Aslam Guddu scored 16 (3x4) and Umar 19 (4x4). Shahid was run out for 9. Zameer was the highest run-scorer with 23 (2x6, 1x4) in 9 balls. Nabeel took 12.
