JEDDAH — A fire erupted in the first floor of an old building in Jeddah's historic area on Tuesday afternoon. The four-story building, located next to Al-Falah School, partially collapsed but no injuries were reported. Spokesman for Makkah Civil Defense Col. Saeed Sarhan said six firefighting teams rushed to the site. Teams from the police, Red Crescent, municipality and Saudi Electric Company were also present. The building was evacuated and the fire was controlled using foam. Harat Al-Sham and Al-Mazloum neighborhoods' mayor Malak Ba Eisa said the building was occupied by expatriates and the first floor was used as a warehouse.
