MAKKAH — Eight firefighting teams from the Civil Defense in Makkah successfully tackled a fire that gutted a furniture warehouse in the holy city's Al-Nawaryia neighborhood. The team was led by Brig. Khalf Bin Jazi Al-Metrafi, Director of Makkah Civil Defense. The warehouse contained hotel furniture, foam, refrigerators and blankets. Col. Ali Al-Menteshri, Makkah Civil Defense spokesman, said the teams managed to contain and put out the fire before it spread to other buildings. He said there were no injuries. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing. — SG
