JEDDAH — The patience and determination of team leaders Roger Daquioag and May Lourdes paid off when Pin Slasher Bulls came out fighting to claim their back-to-back championships at the FEDBG Friday Morning Bowling League 12th conference at the Bowling City here recently.
The championship was as good as gpne gone when Lance & 3rdy came undermanned but the Bulls still played it tough to control the initial set at 1,207-1,141 to take an 18-pin advantage into the second game. Anticipating the opposition might spoil its aspirations, Pin Slasher bettered its production at 1,286 to confirm its back-to-back championships at final tallies of 2,493-2,247 as Lance & 3rdy wasn't able to pick back at 1,106.
Daquioag and Lourdes guided teammates to victory with 405 and 421, respectively, which Jay Bengco, team manager Dariel Loquias, Gerry Mandanas and Aileen Miralbuna backed up with scores of 443, 400, 418 and 406. Team manager Evelyn Santoc shielded Lance & 3rdy with 433, backed by team captain Ric Reformado with 429 on scratch games of 210 and 219. Shirley Sagmit contributed par at 403, while Marcelo Manalo and Ver Jasa added 343 and 359.
Final rankings in this L' Occitane supported tournament are: Pin Slasher – Champion, 2. Lance & 3rdy, 3. Petromin Express, 4. Micah's Pride, 5. Ekis-3, 6. BCT Ball Care Mongoose and 7. Fed Extreme.
In consolation ranks were: D' Mountaineers, Shawly Bowlers, Pin Rockers, X-Alley, Royal Strikers and Fire Fox. Winning the highest average records rounded down were: Ric Reformado at 200, Paolo Allego 197, Rolly Vistal 184, Edris Mangoda 176 and May Lourdes 179. Records on Hi-series hdcp, hi-series scratch, hi-game hdcp and hi-game scratch in team were: Lance & 3rdy 3,885, Pin Slasher 3,492, Shawly Bowlers 1,337 and Pin Rockers 1,221. Among individuals: Ric Reformado 971, Joel Nidoy 696, Rene Punzalan 285, Jeff San Pedro 285, May Lourdes 701, Ester Santoc 576, Matet Cavite 262, Aileen Miralbuna 214.
