Pin Slasher and Petromin stay ahead

JEDDAH — After grabbing the front seat in the 23rd week, defending champion Pin Slasher widened its lead to 12 points from arch-rival Petromin Express by sweeping its bye-team target and emerging the Team of the week, while Petromin Express bested Pin Rockers at 16-4 to be within striking distance at the end of the 25th session of the Friday Morning Bowling League 12th conference at the Bowling City here.
With the hi-game of 245, Jay Bengco together with Aileen Miralbuna recorded an identical 657 to lead the Bulls on their 1,222, 1,200 and 1,324 besting of the session. The solid contribution of 654 from co-captain May Lourdes and 634 from team manager Dariel Loquias plus the 591 from TC Roger Daquioag and 553 from Edu Toledo handed another Team of the Week honor to Pin Slasher on its aggregate of 3,742. Losing Game 1 (1,287-1,186) to an all 200 handicapped games of Pin Rockers with TC Rudy Valenzuela, Romy Bunagan and Ed Cordova, respectively, scratching 215, 212 and 201, second-running Petromin Express intensely retaliated with 1,296-1,160 in the second salvo. Except for Jerry Carredo, the Hawks melted the lead with similar all-200 handicapped scores from Paolo Allego 202, Rolly Vistal 212, Rey Beltran 218, Imelda Sayago 221 and a record-breaking hi-game of 282 from Jeff San Pedro who won the jackpot price for scratching 274. Turning favor at 13-pin advantage, Petromin squarely bettered its marks till Allego scratched 211 and had the Hawks rocked the Pin Rockers with a retaliatory victory of 16-4 (3,718-3,599), including the 1,236-1,152 end match. Sayago scored best at 670 for Petromin, while Valenzuela defended Pin Rockers with 631.
Bowlers of the Week this session were Ester Santoc and Ric Tibayan, who clinched the honor with their respective handicapped totals of 696 and 683. Ester led Micah's Pride past FedExtreme (18-2) with flashy initial record-setting game of 292 from scratch of 256 then 195 and 209. Tibayan recorded games of 231, 260 and 192 in heading BCT Mongoose in its 3,616 aggregate with Nards Hassan supporting best at 629.
Bowlers of the Week in session 24 were Jimmy Aragones and Eva Garcia. Aragones totaled 703 from games of 228, 276 and 199, while Garcia submitted 652 online with 226, 211 and 215.
Other matches showed that Lance & 3rdy and Ekis-3 kept its post despite losing to D' Mountaineers (18-2) and the latter had it 10-10 with Royal Strikers.
