JEDDAH – A grand slam session overwhelmed Pin Slasher Bulls when Roger Daquioag and May Lourdes won the Bowler of the Week honors on garnering their third team of the week accolade and most importantly seizing the league leadership at the expense of archrival Lance & 3rdy in the eighth week of the FEDBG Friday Morning Bowling League 12th conference at the Bowling City here. Exhibiting what seemed to be championship premier, the Bulls cleansed the first two sets at 1,219-1,209 and 1,257-1,150 with team captains Ric Reformado and Daquioag entertaining audience with their top caliber games. Reformado edged Daquioag at 247-237 in the opener but the early cooling off of the former heightened the latter's blitzes for a 245 follow-up which was thickly cushioned by Garry Raymundo, Dariel Loquias, Edu Toledo, Lourdes and Aileen Miralbuna. Such solid backup of the Bulls overrode the efforts of Lance's support squad so that though Marcelo Manalo, Rene Punzalan and Med Ramos significantly helped, the running scores stood at 2,476-2,359 for Pin Slasher. Keeping the notion of descent finish, Lance & 3rdy regrouped and cohesively repulsed to take last game at 1,217-1,141. Team manager Evelyn Santoc and Manalo enlivened teammates with 219 and 214 which were evenly responded by Edward Botardo (199), Ramos (199), Rene Punzalan ((197) and Reformado (189). Pin Slasher won the match at 3,617-3,576 with Daquioag and Lourdes winning Bowler of the Week honors at 692 (237, 245, 210) and 631 (212, 219 and 200. Loquias, Miralbuna, Raymundo and Toledo supported with 621, 610, 544 and 519 in that order. Petromin Express bowled like newly overhauled engine with flamboyant Paolo Allego guiding teammates with his 677 series from 638 scratch prolifically collected from 212, 218 and 208. Planked with 630 and 602 by notably improving Jerry Carredo and Jeff San Pedro, the Petromin caught Shawly Bowlers flatfooted despite the indispensable counter-kegling of Arnel Digap (637), Cloyd Ope?a (647) and Nestor Sa?osa (602). The match was actually close at 1,169-1,202 with San Pedro backing up Allego with 219 but repelled by Ope?a (230) and Luis Pacubas (222) on the initial salvo. The Dragon even got closer at 1,186-1,184 when Digap exploded a 264 to have the Hawk beatable at 14-pin advantage (2507-2493) including handicap after two games. But what caused Hawk to continuously dominate and completely stiffle Dragon was the sustained leadership of Allego and consistent supports of San Pedro, Rolly Vistal, Nilo Llanera, Imelda Sayago and Carredo which Sa?osa, Digap and Ope?a failed to contain as Pacubas, Andy David and Sally Sa?osa fell short of necessary aid. The Hawk completely clawed Dragon at 20-0 (3,577-3,482). Other matches showed that Pin Rockert routed BCT Mongoose (18-2), Ekis-3, Mountaineers and Fed Extreme respectively blanked Royal Strikers, Fire Fox and X-Alley and Micah's Pride beat 950.
