Daquioag, Santoc inspire their teams
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 06 - 08 - 2012

Pin Slasher team with Roger Daquioag (2nd L standing)Pip R. PlanasJEDDAH — Roger Daquioag and Ester Santoc inspired their respective teams with their Bowler of the Week honor-winning performances that made Pin Slasher Bulls and Micah's Pride Tigers victorious on 16-4 card over Petromin Express and Ekis-3 in the sixth week of action in the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group Friday Morning Bowling League 12th conference at the Bowling City here.
Fresh from his perfect-game spectacle, team captain Daquioag started with 236. A 224 by the lefty skipper put Pin Slasher in command. Dariel Loquias, Carling Constantino, Jay Bengco, Aileen Miralbuna and co-captain May Lourdes supported solidly to block the counter blows of Rolly Vistal and Jeff San Pedro on the oil specialists side.
Aspiring to dry up Petromin, Daquioag and Bengco combined for 446 on the last set. But Petromin has already energized with TC Marlon Heredia thrusting 221. As their head rose up, Jett Santos, Paolo Allego, Vistal, Imelda Sayago and San Pedro prolifically supported Heredia with 988 to salvage 4 points for Petromin on the endgame. Nevertheless Pin Slasher claimed the contest at 3,658-3,489 to emerge as the Team of the Week.
Daquioag won the male Bowler of the week honor on his games of 236, 224 and 211 for scratch total of 671. Top-scorer for Petromin was Vistal with 651.
On her team management, E. Santoc emerged successful in a fairly shared game scheme wherein she maximized her handicap to be the lady Bowler of the Week on her 602 leadership collected from handicapped games of 190, 210 and 202. Such inspiring leadership was well-responded by Oca Bernabe, Bonnie Garcia, Jack Jarin, Ruel Santoc and Ronnie de Castro who helped the Tigers on 1,155-1,108 initial control of Ekis-3. Micah intended for a follow-up with R. Santoc and de Castro blasting 216 and 223, but Sol Cuenca and Alex Flora fired back and with firmed planking from Zaldy Bacero, Ruben Gri?o, Lourdes Punzalan and team captain Ernie Geslani, Ekis-3 evened the card at 1,199-1,165.
Such reprisal prompted the Tigers for a more prudent endgame shifting to mark-trading and decisive finish. The result was a victorious 1,106-1,086 ultimate and triumphant aggregate of 3,426-3,393 with de Castro and Ruel helping Ester best with 624 and 619 respectively. Ekis-3 was walled best by skipper Geslani at 616.
Ekis-3 has shaky 133 points lead. It is followed by Lance & 3rdy (132), Fed Extreme (126), Pin Slasher (122), Pin Rockers (117), Micah's Pride(112), Shawly Bowlers (111), Petromin (95), D' Mountaineers (95), Royal Strikers (87), Ball Care Mongoose (86), Fire Fox (77), X-Alley (69).
