RIYADH – The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has denied social media rumors on international events and activities scheduled as part of the Riyadh Season starting in the capital on Oct. 11. The GEA stressed that it would announce the season's program and all the details subsequently. The authority urged all to stick to accuracy when circulating such information. It asserted that such information should be obtained from official sources. Only information published by the GEA officially in the media or on its social media platforms can be used, it said. The two-month Riyadh Season will culminate on Dec. 15. The season will consist of a number of sports, musical, theatrical, fashion shows, circus and various other entertainment activities. A number of international restaurants will open on the occasion in addition to a huge number of eateries offering local cuisine. About 20 million repeated visitors, including a million from Riyadh, are expected to visit the festival. The show will extend on an area of 14 million sq. meters at a cost of about SR1.5 billion and be held at 11 different locations. The locations will include King Fahd International Football Stadium, Wadi Hanifah and others. The Riyadh Season is considered the biggest entertainment event in the capital city. The event is part of the ‘Saudi Seasons 2019' launched by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH).
