RIYADH — The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) is making final preparations for the Riyadh Season which will kick off on Oct. 11 and continue for two months. The authority is frantically looking for Saudis with unique talents in various fields so as to provide them with an opportunity to show their expertise to the audience attending the season. It has appealed to young men and women, who appeared in creative videos on the social media, to contact it so as to participate in the festival. The young men whom the GEA contacted included singer Sami Al-Hakami who dazzled the audience at Al-Soudah Season. According to Al-Arabiyah.net, the audience cheered Hakami who sang without previous arrangements or tickets. The authority also contacted violin player Abu Fahd Al-Doufish whose video tape on the social media was admired by a large number of people. The two appeared in a picture with the authority's chairman, Turki Al-Asheikh who agreed with them to participate in the upcoming Riyadh Season. The agreement with the two was within the GEA's efforts to tap the unknown talents who are still in the shadow so as to present them to the public in a most organized manner during a big season which is expected to attract more than 20 million visitors. The Riyadh 2019 festival will consist of a number of activities including sports, theatrical, singing, musical, fashion shows, circus, games, special programs for children and others. A number of international restaurants will open in Riyadh specially for the occasion. The festival's activities will be held in 11 various districts in Riyadh.
