RIYADH – The ongoing Riyadh Season has so far been able to attract over 5 million visitors, Turki Al-Asheikh, chief of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has said. The season was launched on Oct. 11. The GEA disclosed that it registered record figures in the number of visitors, especially during the weekends, as the number of visitors last Thursday exceeded 200,000 while their number on Friday was over 175,000. The Riyadh Season events are scheduled to continue until mid-December in 12 major zones and six subsidiary zones scattered in various locations of the capital. Many diverse events of interest to different categories and ages, estimated at 3,000, are taking place in these zones. Riyadh Season is part of the strategy to transform the Kingdom into one of the most important tourist and entertainment destinations in the world. This is with the objective of enhancing the role of entertainment within the economic system supporting the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
