The Saudi Electronics and Home Appliances Institute (SEHAI) recently commemorated the 10th anniversary of its establishment. Held in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Fahad Al-Fuhaid, governor of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), Dr. Ismail Mohammed Mufarreh, SEHAI director, and Tsukasa Uemura, Japanese ambassador to Saudi Arabia, the celebrations on Tuesday also marked the graduation of the batch 10 trainees of the institute. Shigeru Chiba, chairman of the Board of Directors of Katayanagi Institute, Daisei Yamano, vice principal of Nippon Engineering College (NEEC), a number of owners and representatives of the companies, members of the Executive Committee of the Institute, and parents of the trainees also attended. After the 120 graduates were complimented for their academic achievement in speeches by Al-Fuhaid, Mufarreh, Uemura and Chiba, the cultural performance of Saudi Arabia and Japan was performed by the SEHAI staff and the students of Japanese school in Riyadh respectively. The celebrations marking the graduation and 10th anniversary of the institute were clear signs that SEHAI is a good example of translating the fruitful cooperation between two friendly countries. In response to this, the graduates expressed confidence to serve their country, companies and business environment faithfully and sincerely through the graduation march. The ceremony concluded with the taking of souvenir photos of the patron of the ceremony with the trainees. SEHAI is the third technical and vocational training center supported by Japan. It followed SJAHI and HIPF, both of which were in operation for at least over a decade. More than 800 young Saudis have graduated from SEHAI since its establishment and utilized their skills in the electric and electronic field. "It goes without saying that this cannot be realized without the support from the both governments, but at the same time, these training centers also illustrate that Japan has taken serious consideration about human resources development in Saudi Arabia and would like to have a continuous relationship with Saudi Arabia," said a press release on the occasion. "Without a doubt, Japan will support human resources development in Saudi Arabia to realize the Vision 2030, and needless to say, SEHAI will play an important role in the nationalization of the technical fields for the ambitious Saudi youth," it added.
