RIYADH — A training institute for Saudi youth in Riyadh has recently been granted accreditation by one of the most prominent Japanese technical colleges. The Saudi Electronics and Home Appliances Institute (SEHAI) was given its accreditation by the Nippon Engineering College of Hachioji (NEEC), which falls under the prestigious Katayanagi Institute. The curricula of SEHAI have met the accreditation requirements set forth by NEEC, whose criteria include assessments of not only the institute's training program but also its operating unit and facilities, among others. The accreditation awarded by the Japanese academic body is the first of its kind for a Saudi vocational training institute. SEHAI is a joint project that symbolizes a strategic partnership between the Kingdom and Japan and its two-year course is under supervision of the Technical Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC). The institute has been contributing to the development of human resources in the Kingdom and to the creation of employment among Saudi youth. SEHAI has been supported by both Saudi and Japanese governments and leading home appliances and electronics manufacturers.
