Toyota up against Mazroi in final

JEDDAH – ALJ Toyota set up Hyundai Morning Tournament final against Al-Mazroi-XI after they beat MQ Group and Mercedes Benz, respectively, in the semifinals here recently.
The Tournament is being organized by the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) and sponsored by Hyundai. The Final will be played on Friday, March 15.
In the first match Al-Mazroi beat Mercedes Benz by 34 runs. Al-Mazroi, electing to bat first, racked up 226-5.
Skipper Sufiyan Laheri blasted an unbeaten 137 off 51 balls (5x6 and 19x4). Mohsin added 40 as the two scored 116 runs for the second wicket. Javed grabbed 2-27, while a wicket each went to Rashid, Jibran and Habib.
Mercedes Benz, in reply, could only get to 192 in the stipulated overs.
Ilyas scored 54 and Jibran added 54 as they put on 108 runs in 56 balls for the third wicket, but it was always going to be tough. Once again skipper Sufiyan Laheri was the pick of the bowlers and claimed 3-26, while a wicket each was picked up by Rafiq, Sohail, Nadeem and Saif. Attaurrehman and Zahid Mehmood supervised the match.
In the other semifinal, ALJ Toyota beat MQ Group by 32 runs. Batting first, ALJ piled up 178-8 in 18 overs with Imran Rana scoring 58 (6x4 and 2x6), Tanveer Zamane 47 and Basheer 43. AbdulRauf scalped 2-24 and Babar 2-39, while Khaleel Dawood bagged one.
MQ Group, in reply, could score only 146-9 as Babar hit 40, Shakeel 35 and Laique Ghondhalekar 22. Arif grabbed 4-26, while a wicket each went to Bilal, Imran, Tanveer and Rizwan. The match was supervised by Idrees and Imran.
