ALJ Toyota cricketersDr. Sayed ZiauddinJEDDAH – AOT GFC won against Dopco Stars, APF downed Usman Gems and Zultec had the last laugh against IDB in the WPCA Premier Summer Tournament.
In the Morning Summer League, Al-Mazroi XI defeated Rayyan Khan, Mercedes Benz beat QRCC and ALJ Toyota had the better of Orbital Horizon.
Dopco Stars batted first to post 161-9 through Usman (39), Khurram (23) and Hashim (18). Qaiser scalped 3-25, Imran 2-29 and Nasir Iqbal 2-38. A wicket each went to Qaim Khan and Zeeshan.
In reply, AOT GFC was home with just one ball left as Faiq Habeeb smashed an unbeaten 61 off 37 balls, Faisal Mehmood made 38 and Imran 25 to tally 164-8. Mehboob Bobby grabbed 3-28 and Mohammed Riaz Khan 2-18. Shoaib Ali got one wicket.
Zultec chasing 156 to win against IDB reached the target in 86 balls as Farook hit an unbeaten 48, Afaq 33 not out, Javed Iqbal 30 and Abdullah Essa 20. Earlier, Javed Iqbal took 4 wickets to restrict IDB.
Asian Plastic Factory (APF), batting first, plundered 232-3 in 120 balls as skipper Nadeem Amin blasted 75 in 38 balls, Usman Ali Niaz an unbeaten 79 off 48 studded with 6 fours and 4 sixes. Wajahat faced just 24 deliveries to remain unbeaten on 59. One wicket each went to Kashan, Zahid Anwer and Amjad.
Usman Gems accepted the challenge and reached 197-9. Mohammed Amjad hammered 60 in 24 balls and Moazzam Shoukat 57 in 30. They added 108 runs for the second wicket. Later, Hashim Khan made 20 but lost by just 35 runs with six balls to spare. Abdulqayyum grabbed 3-59, Arshad 2-17 and Amjad 2-37. Murtuza and Wajahat accounted for one wicket each.
Rayyan Khan was restricted to 195-6. Hanzeb remained unbeaten on 21. Mohsin took 2-18. Al-Mazroi then took just 58 balls to hammer down the required 108 by losing four wickets. Sufiyan Laheri made 34, Farook 25 not out and Faizan 19 not out. Hasan claimed 2-41.
QRCC replied with 137-6 in 108 balls against Mercedes Benz. Zahid top scored with 30, Saleem Shaikh 26, Iqbal 22 and Haseeb 22. Ismail and Azhar Butt took 2-20 and 2-23 respectively. While chasing, Mercedes Benz raced to 138-4 in just 69 balls, thanks to Jibran who smacked 65 with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Shafeeq made 35. Debutant Mohammed Uzair impressed with excellent fielding.
ALJ Toyota racked up 172-5 in 108 balls against Orbital Horizon. Zahid remained unbeaten on 43, Adil made 29, Rafaqat 26 and Tanveer 22. Tariq Butt grabbed 3-54. Orbital Horizon, in reply, was stranded at 136-7 as Tahir top scored with 30 and Kashif hit 23 not out. __
