Planas JEDDAH — Micah's Pride bounced back from its previous setbacks to slash some points from Pin Slasher and Petromin Express teams that are on top of the overall standings after 22 sessions of the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group 12th conference at the Bowling City here. Up against a no-show Fire Fox, team head Ester Santoc inspired teammates with her 234 on the opening salvo which Bonnie Garcia superbly backed up with 221. And with support from Oca Bernabe, Jack Jarin, Ruel Santoc and Myrna Santoc the team tallied 1,071, up above the target 950. The initiative of Ester enlivened Bernabe for the 245 scratch leadership in Game 2, enthusing Garcia and Ruel for 232 and 209 that swelling the output to 1,139. Aware of the usual endgame collapse, Garcia continued to sear the lanes with 235 and with unexpected 209 handicapped contributions from Myrna and Bernabe meeting his average, Micah's Pride swept the match with Team of the Week honor-winning total output of 3,641. Double jubilation engulfed Micah's Pride as Garcia was named the Bowler of the Week with handicapped total of 704 collected from 221, 240 and 243. Defending champion Pin Slasher orchestrated well-balanced games with Dariel Loquias on the helm. Loquias topped Pin Slasher with 629 glittered by 251 and 218. The contribution of Loquias stirred up the entire squad to surpass the 950 limit with 1,018, 1,021 and 1,009 scratch sets. Cohesive teamwork worked well for Pin Slasher capitalizing its 119 hpg for a total output of 3,405 made by team captain Roger Daquioag, May Lourdes, Aileen Miralbuna, Jay Bengco and Carling Constantino. Pin Slasher banked 27 points including 7 from ranking to keep second spot with 499 computed points. League leader Petromin Express also had glorious outing as it blanked undermanned X-Alley to stay second to Micah's Pride. Served mostly by Paolo Allego, who totaled 635 on games of 226, 214 and 195, Petromin thrashed opponent with the week's second best output of 3,574 to continuously lead the tournament with total points of 517, including the day's banking of 32 points. Alma Bacero provided best help at 623, while Rey Beltran, Jerry Carredo, Jeff San Pedro and Rolly Vistal shared the rest of Petromin's production. Emerging Lady Bowler of the Week was Farida de Guzman, who submitted 645 in leading Fed Extreme that played against a bye team. De Guzman posted handicapped games of 200, 248 and 197. Cesar Monares backed de Guzman best with 639 from games of 211, 219 and 209. Fed Extreme totaled 3,517 including the contributions of TC Carlos Bustinera (623), Jimmy Mandingiado, Jowet Carreon and Fedelyn Bustinera. Other victorious teams this week were: D'Mountaineers edged Shawly Bowlers at 11-9, Ekis 3 won over BCT Ball Care Team, also at 11-9, and Pin Rockers rocked Lance & 3rdy at 16-4.
