Saudi Gazette International Indian School, Kindergarten section celebrated the much awaited Annual Sports Day on Dec. 20, 2011 with fervor and enthusiasm. The program was graced by the principal, Syed Masood Ahmed; vice principals of girls' and boys' section; COE,Ayoob Shaikh, and headmistresses of various blocks. The Headmistress, Ayesha Rafai welcomed the gathering and raised high the school banner and the house flags. The captains and vice captains took the oath of fair play. The Principal declared the sports meet open after the torch lighting ceremony. The robust students presented the Chick Drill by flapping and fluffing their feathers. This unique endeavor captured the hearts of the spectators. With the sports spirit in the air the LKG students had various events like sprints, bouquet relay, ball and balloon race, dragon race, hurdle and collection of balls and loads of other exciting games which left the audience and students utterly thrilled. Promising young businessmen gave a perfect demo in the event “setting up your store” and girls became virtual hairdressers by making beautiful hairstyles. The UKG began with sprints followed by doll relay, hula hoop race, balancing the ball on the bottles, sack and kangaroo race and lots of other events which required mental and physical strength. The little ones proved their mettle zealously by competing with a true sportsman spirit. The day reached its crescendo with the Yellow House being the winners followed closely by Green House. The trophies were presented by the Principal to the winners. The sport events were meticulously planned by Humera Parveen and Farhana Khan, sports coordinators and were assisted by Sheema Hashmi, Atiya Azizuddin and all other house coordinators. __
