Exciting encounters in Amaq Cup

RIYADH — Gujranwala, Maestro, Konkan, Evergreen6rs, Bhatkal Warrior scored wins in the 2nd round of the Amaq T-20 Cup here recently.
Mushtaq and Atif Aslam hit tons, while Ashraf, Rahil Lala, Shammaz and Majid put on great all-round performances.
The Amaq T-20 Cricket Tournament 2012-13 is being organized by Riyadh Cricket League.
In the first match, Gujranwala defeated Cricket Samarwa by 25 runs. Batting first, Gujranwala scored 199-5 in 20 overs. Awais hit 52, Usman 51 and Ashraf 32. Aamir took 2 wickets while Kashif, Naeem and Asif took 1 wicket each. In reply, Cricket Samarwa could score only 176-6 in the allotted overs. Shakeel scored 42, Abubaker 31 and Asif 23. Ashraf claimed 3 wickets, Usman 2 and Saleem 1. Ashraf was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his 32 runs and 3 wickets.
The second match saw Maestro beat Cricketers by 5 wickets. Batting first, Cricketers put on 153-8 in 20 overs. Sherjil made 32, Umar 23 and Shafeeq 19. Saqib took 2 wickets, while Rahil, Hashir, Abdullah and Imran bagged a wicket each. In reply, Maestro achieved the target for the loss of 5 wickets in 18.2 overs. Rahil Lala played well and made 57 runs, Kalandar added 24 and Umar Bashir 22. Kamran and Zeeshan took 2 wickets each, while Umar claimed 1. Rahil Lala was awarded the Man-of-the-Match honor.
In the third match, Konkan thrashed Cyberoam by 8 wickets. Batting first, Cyberoam made 183-5 in 20 overs. Atif Aslam played an outstanding innings of 100 runs (15x4 and 1x6), while Waqar Rauf added 53. Majid took 3-20, while Aijaz and Muzaffar claimed a wicket each. In reply, Konkan reached the target for the loss of 2 wickets in 17.3 overs. Majid scored 78, Mansoor 47 and Danish 39. Imran and Mohammed Rauf took a wicket each. Majid claimed the Man-of-the-Match award.
In the fourth match, Evergreen6rs defeated Super by 85 runs. Batting first, Evergreen6rs scored 246-6 in 18 overs. Mushtaq Rasheed played a magnificent innings of 110 (1x4), Hafiz scored 73 and Khawar Zafar 22. Shafiq and Baber took 2 wickets each, while Adnan and Riaz took 1 wicket each. In reply, Super could score only 164-8 in 18 overs. Shafiq made 31, Adnan Malik 29 and Adnan 23. Amjad took 3-12, while Adil, Nawaz, Asif and Mudasar claimed a wicket each. Mushtaq Rasheed picked up the Man-of-the-Match award for his century.
In the fifth match, Bhatkal Warriors beat Indian strikers by 12 runs. Batting first, Bhatkal made 225-5 in 20 overs. Shammaz played well and scored 78, Nasif made 33 and Fahad 27. Yashik, Faizullah, Anees and Noufal claimed a wicket each. In reply, Indian Strikers started well, but fell short by 12 runs. They scored 213-9 wickets in 20 overs. Junais scored 54, Anees 32 and Faizullah 30.
Fahad and Arafat took 2 wickets each, while Ibrahim, Afaq and Zahir claimed 1 each. Shammaz received the Man-of-the-Match award.
