Farrukh and Subair shine in RCL event

RIYADH — Farrukh Saeed's century and Subair Hassan's 6-wicket haul were the standout performances as Falcon, Mughal, NAB, Indian Strikers, Super, Star XI, Royal Fighters and Game Pro won their matches in Amaq Contracting Cup 2012-13 being organized by Riyadh Cricket League (RCL) here.
In the first match, Falcon beat Cricket Samarwa by 8 wickets. Batting first Cricket Samarwa made 159-9 through Shakeel 52, Kashif 28 and Hameed 22. Bilawal Haneef and Abdul Majid claimed 3 wickets each, while Sirajuddin bagged 2-29. In reply, Falcon achieved the target in 17.2 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Farrukh Saeed played an outstanding inning of 108 not out (12 boundaries and 2 sixes), while Farhan Khairi added 26 runs. Aamir and Hameed took one wicket each.
In the 2nd match, Mughal beat Evergreen by 6 runs. Batting first, Mughal scored 172-9. Shafiq hit 39, Zahid 29 and Zubair 28. Adil took 4-27 and Mudasar 3-21. In reply Evergreen could score only 166-7. Rizwan scored 43 and Mushtaq 33. Zubair took 3-29, while Waqar Butt claimed 2-20.
In the third match, NAB defeated Al-Eid by 3 wickets. Al-Eid put on 137.
Fahim Shah made 22, Maz 21, and Kashif 20. Imran Khan took 3-38, while Abbas, Nazir and Jamshed claimed 2 wickets each. In reply, NAB achieved the target in the 23rd over for the loss of 7 wickets. Usman made 53 and Kamran 18. Irfan took 3-35, Asad 2-6 while Fahim and Maz bagged a wicket each.
The fourth match saw Indian Strikers thrash Cyberoam by 171 runs, Batting first, Indian strikers set a huge target of 231-6 in 20 Overs. Junaid made 48, Anees 49 and Noufal 58. Zeeshan Haider took 3-20. In reply, Cyberoam crumbled for 55. Atif Aslam made 20 and Farhan Rauf 14. Subair Hassan destroyed the Cyberoam lineup for figures of 6-17.
In the fifth match, Super Green defeated National by 43 runs. Super Green elected to bat first and made 184-9. Shafeeq made 71, Shahid 50 and Sajid 22. Irfan took 3-20 while Ashraf and Abid took 2 wickets each. In reply, Nation could score 141-9. Salman made 28, Khalid 27 and Yasir 24. Adnan, Zahoor and Babar Mirza took 2 wicket each.
In another encounter, Star Eleven beat Riyadh Sports Club by 52 runs. Star Eleven batted first and scored 170 in 20 overs. Imtiaz made 67, Kashif 30 and Manzoor 21. Yunus took 4-27, Saffor 3-30 and Shanawaz 2-17. In reply, Riyadh Sport Club could muster only 118 runs. Asif made 26 and Kafayat 36. Imtiaz took 3-28, Mansoor 3-33, Kashif 3-20 and Abbas 2-19.
Royal Fighter defeated Gujranwal by 3 wickets. Batting first, Gujranwala made 108-9. Umer scored 26 and Shakeel 18, while Qaisar took 2-12, Shakir 2-23 and Asif 2-20. In reply, Royal Fighter achieved the target in the 13th over for the loss of 7 wickets. Mehboob made 70 and Ahmed 19. Saleem took 3-22, while Hasan claimed 2-25.
The 8th and the last match of the day saw GamePro humbled Black Caps by 10 wickets. BlackCaps, batting first, made 137. Sanaulla scored 39, Kanwar Malik 25 and Abid 21. Imtiyaz, Sirajuddin and Zakariyah Hasan took 2 wickets each. In reply, GamePro reached the target without the loss of a wicket as Imran Gavanji remained unbeaten on 70 and Moiezuddin was 54 not out.
