Mohammad Al-Zahrani Okaz/Saudi Gazette TAIF — A female special needs student died in a Red Crescent ambulance en route to hospital, a medical sources told Okaz/Saudi Gazette. The 19-year-old collapsed at school and was transported to Al-Aqeeq health center after her teachers administered first aid and notified her father. Spokesman for Taif Health Affairs Directorate Siraj Al-Humaidan said she suffered from cardiac arrest and respiratory failure. He said Al-Aqeeq health center tried to revive her, but to no avail. They then had the Red Crescent transport her to King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital. Red Crescent emergency medical technicians continued in their efforts to revive her in the ambulance but she could not be saved, he added. Director of Taif Educational Directorate Dr. Mohammad Al-Shahrani said the special needs student was mentally challenged, deaf and epileptic. He offered his condolences to the family.
