Abdulhadi Al-Sowayan Okaz/Saudi Gazette MADINAH — A medical complex in Madinah discharged a child patient because they did not have the required treatment for him. Cleaning workers then carried the child to the sidewalk and left him there with his mother. The eight-year-old had high temperature, and the complex told the mother to take him to Al-Ansar Hospital. Pedestrians were surprised to see the child and his mother on the sidewalk. The mother was seen attempting to flag passing cars to help her transport him to the hospital. The child's uncle finally arrived, and had an ambulance transport the child instead. The spokesman for Madinah Health Affairs Directorate, Abdulrazzak Hafiz, said that if they receive a complaint, they would investigate it. Any offender would be subject to punishment, he added. A source at the hospital refused to comment on the incident. The child's mother has formally petitioned the Health Directorate to investigate the incident and penalize those responsible for this inhumane behavior.
