JEDDAH – Civil Defense helicopters helped firefighters on the ground douse a huge fire that broke out in several aluminum warehouses in north Jeddah. The blaze started at one of the warehouses and then spread to nearby ones. Nine firefighting units supported by rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. A spokesman for the Makkah Civil Defense said foam was used to contain the blaze and several warehouses were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Another fire broke out in south Jeddah inside a plastic factory, the spokesman said. Four firefighting teams were sent to the scene to contain the fire, he added.
