A huge fire tore through four major clothing warehouses in Khumrah area in southern Jeddah early Thursday morning. The blaze was so huge that the 15 teams of Jeddah firefighters at the site had to call in back-up from Makkah. An approximate area of 3200 sq.m was gutted. The fire was contained before it reached a tire warehouse and nearby gas station.More than 70 water tanks were called for help. Nobody was inside the warehouse when the fire broke out. Col. Muhammad AL-Ghamdi, chief of Jeddah Civil Defense Department, said the cause of the blaze would be investigated. – Okaz __
