Abdul Rahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The Administrative Court in Jeddah sentenced an African male to one year in prison and SR1,000 fine for using a fake passport to leave the Kingdom. Immigration officers at King Abdulaziz International Airport arrested the man after he gave them his real name instead of the one appearing in the fake passport. During investigations, he broke down and confessed that he got the passport from a man in Makkah. He told investigators that he lost his passport near the Grand Mosque and did not know what to do. While he was sitting in one of the courtyards, a man approached him asking him why he was crying and feeling sad. When the African man told this stranger about his story, the latter provided him with a passport whose original holder was an African male. He did not even ask for money and asked the African to use the passport to leave the Kingdom. The judge who looked into the case delivered a one-year prison sentence with a fine. The African accepted the verdict.
