DAMMAM: A Saudi man was sentenced Monday to three years' prison and fined SR8,000 for presenting fake documents stating his genealogical background in order to get married. The man's father-in-law claimed that his daughter and her husband, who currently live together in Qatif with their three-year-old daughter, are genealogically “incompatible”, and took his claims that the papers presented at the time of marriage were false to the Administrative Court in the Eastern Province. Spouse Abdullah Al-Mahdi, however, said he intends to appeal the verdict and has called upon the relevant authorities to intervene and review the case and the groundings for the ruling.
