JEDDAH: The Administrative Court in Asir has sentenced a policeman in Jizan to five months' prison for accepting bribes to the release detainee held over breaches of residency laws. A second defendant was absolved for lack of evidence. The court was told that the policeman took SR6000 from the second defendant via a middle-man to release a detained man being held at the Passports Department in Asir, and prosecutors produced certified confessions to the crime from the suspects.
