ABHA – A pickup truck fell into a 29-meter deep ravine from the top of Sha'af Balqarn slopes after veering off the road Wednesday evening. The Indian driver of the vehicle was found unconscious and rushed to hospital. He is reported to be in stable condition. The Civil Defense said the vehicle would have slithered further down the slope had it not been hindered by a boulder. Col. Muhammad Abdulraheem Al-Assimi, spokesman for the Civil Defense in Asir region, said Civil Defense personnel rushed to the scene and rescued the driver as soon as the operations room received the alert. The cause of the accident is not known.
