AOT GFC team Dr. Sayed Ziauddin JEDDAH — Shahbaz Rasheed hit a ton, while Kashif Mughal claimed the hat trick in the CMDA Premier tournament, which is sponsored by Crown Steel Engineering, My Care Hala, Dopco Engineers, AOT GFC and Hyundai and organized by WPCA, here recently. In the first match, My Care Hala got the better of Hala Gems. Batting first, Hala Gems was bowled out for 129. Imran Chaudhry scored 27, Moazzam Shoukat 25 and Amjad 21. Hussain Bhatti claimed 3-22, Jawwad 3-22, Faheem 2-22, while a wicket each was picked up by Mohammed Tayyab and Azeem. My Care Hala, in reply, lost 2 wickets early, but Waheed put on 25 and Waqas Ausaf and Babar remained unbeaten on 57 and 37, respectively, to add 84 runs for the 4th wicket partnership to take their team to victory. Amjad, Kashan and Amir Sajjad bagged a wicket each. The second match saw Dopco Stars beat IDB by 81 runs. Batting first, Dopco Stars racked up 205-2 in 18 overs thanks to a brilliant century by Shahbaz Rashid (108 off 57 balls - 12 fours and 2 sixes) as he added 124 runs for the first wicket with Nadeem (63). Dopco Stars scored 80 runs in the last 36 balls. Sarfaraz claimed one wicket. IDB, in reply, could manage only 124, despite a fighting innings by Khurram, who scored 53 off 29 balls. Shahbaz Rasheed, after excelling with the bat, took 3-31, while Khurram took 2-27. A wicket each was claimed by Riaz Mohammed Khan, Imran, Saleem and Asim. In another match, opting to bat first, Zultec made 159-8. Wajahat Shah scored 36, Javed Iqbal 29, Afaq 26 and Akram 25. Kashif Mughal grabbed a brilliant hat trick in his third over for figures of 3-27. Zeeshan took 2-21, while a wicket each was picked up by Qaiser, Imran Yusuf and Salman. AOT GFC, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals to be struggling at 69-4. But Qaim Ali Khan hammered 6 fours and 5 sixes to remain unbeaten on 74 off 35 balls and put on 95 runs for the unbroken stand of 95 in 50 balls with Salman, who hit 38, to claim victory for their team. One wicket each went to Wajahat Shah, Javed Iqbal, Usman and Khalid Iqbal.
