Dopco Stars, APF, Usman Gems emerge winners

Mohammed Amjad of APF bowled devastatingly to crush AOT GFC, Mehboob Bobby of Dopco Stars claimed 5 Zultec wickets and Moazzam and Imran steered Usman Gems to victory against Mazco XI in the Dopco Premier Challengers Cup which is being sponsored by Dopco Company and managed by WPCA.
Hala School, Hala Academy White, Sana Sports and Otex won their respective encounters in the Morning Tournament.
Zultec, batting first against Dopco, was all out for 260 despite fine batting by Ghayour Sajjad 93, Javed Iqbal 41, Anis Malik 30, Emad 26 and Jawwad 24. Mehboob Bobby took 5-50 and Shahbaz 2-52 while Ejaz, Khurram and Ajmal got one each.
Dopco openers scored at will to put up 175 runs as Nadeem stroked 90 in 64 balls and Usman 93 off 45 balls. Shahbaz remained unbeaten on 50 to reach 263-3 in 152 balls. Hasnat made 22. Khalid, Javed and Jawwad accounted for the wickets.
AOT GFC chose to bat first against APF and crumbled for 148 as Mohammed Amjad bowled deadly to take 5 wickets. Nadeem took 2-36 while Wajahat, Arshad and Anwaar accounted for the rest. Qaiser Lateef top scored with 28. Faisal and Faiq Habib had identical 23 and Hafiz Jafar 21.
APF was home with 7 wickets in hand in just 82 balls to achieve 149 with Wajahat smashing 54 in 20 balls.
Imran Ghani made 29, Usman 23 and Nadeem Amin 21. Nasir Iqbal took 3-40.
Batting first, Mazco XI's half of the side was gone for 127 within 22 overs. Arif contributed 54, Aamir 42 and Samer 25 to get to 224 all out. Imran Choudhry grabbed 3-19 and Waqas 2-37 while Amjad, Asif and Hashim Khan claimed one wicket each.
Usman Gems, in reply, got off to good start with Moazzam Shoukat smashing 71 in 53 balls and Imran Choudhry contributing 48. Later Zahid Bhatti stroked an unbeaten 51 and Waqas 18 not out to reach 225-3 in 144 balls.
In the Morning Tournament Hala International School defeated Mercedes Benz after piling up 168-9 through Noman 82 in 40 balls and Saad Butt 15 not out. Khalid got 2-11, Javed 2-26 and Jibran 2-43. After Mercedes Benz struggling to 36-4 Saifu made 57 not out and Javed hit an unbeaten 61. They added 125 runs for the fifth wicket but fell short of 7 runs. Usman grabbed 2-30 and Noman 2-32.
Orbital Horizon tallied 152 for 9 against Sana Sports through Babar 34, Farid Afridi 30 and Kashif 23. Kamran 2-37, Sajjad 2-28 and Ramazan 2-26 were among the wicket-takers. Sana Sports was home making 153-3 in 94 balls. Imran blasted 88 and Kashif 36.
Hala Academy White piled up 188-5 against G D Design. Abdul Moeed hit 95 in 46 balls, Jahanzeb 43 and Zohaib 22. Zubair took 2-22. G D Design crumbled for 133. Bilal top scored with 42 and Javed made 26. Irfan scalped 3-20, Javed 2-13 and Saqlain 2-14.
Otex CC defeated Rayyan Khan Batulka in another match.
