JEDDAH — Dopco Stars downed My Care & Hala, AOT GFC got the better of IDB and Hala Gems defeated Zultec in the Hyundai's CMDA T20 Challengers Cup 2012 in Week 3 action here recently.
The tournament, being played in colorful kits, is sponsored by Hyundai along with Crown Steel, My Care Hala, Dopco Company and AOT GFC.
My Care & Hala batting first was bowled out for 124 in 20 overs. Irfan top scored with 43, while Jawad added 28 and Waheed 21. Shoaib Ali claimed 2-28 and Asim 2-17, while a wicket each went to Khurram, Shahbaz and Ajmal Khan.
Dopco Stars reached the target of 125 for the loss of one wicket in 84 balls. Skipper Shahbaz Rashid hammered an unbeaten 52 (7 fours and 2 sixes). Maqsood remained unbeaten on 47, while Nadeem scored 24. Hussain Bhatti took the lone wicket to fall.
The second match saw AOT GFC opt to bat first against IDB. It was bundled out for 147. Faiq Habeeb hit 61. Yasir took 2-9, Khalid 2-26 and Babar 2-29. AOT GFC then restricted IDB to 110 to win by 37 runs. Ejaz top scored with 30. Nasir Iqbal took 3-19, Imran yusuf 2-22, Zeeshan 2-25 and Faiq 2-18, while Sulaiman picked up one wicket.
In the third match Hala Gems used the track first and piled up 181-8 against Zultec. Amer Sajjad scored 59 in 29 balls and Imran Choudhry 54 in 32 balls as they added 116 runs for the first wicket. Usman took 2-26, Afaq 2-16 and Wajahat 2-45, while Samer accounted for one. Zultec in response could only get to 146 with contributions from Abdullah Essa (29) and Afaq (26). Zahid Anwer grabbed 4-32 and skipper Hashim Khan 2-33. A wicket each went to Asif, Amer Sajjad and Moazzam.
