DAMMAM — An Asian driver in his sixties has been arrested in a state of intoxication after he allegedly murdered his 70-year-old employer in Al-Khobar. The elderly Saudi died of serious head injuries he sustained during the attack. He was found dead in a pool of blood in the courtyard of his house at dawn Sunday. Police arrested the perpetrator from the upper story of the house, as he was trying to commit suicide. Ziyad Al-Reghaity, spokesman for the Eastern Province police, said that at 3 A.M., the control room received a call about the murder. Security teams under the supervision of Col. Faisal Al-Asoos, director of Al-Khobar police, were immediately dispatched to the scene. After the inquest, officials transferred the body to hospital for an autopsy. An investigation is under way to determine the circumstances that led to the assault and murder. — SG
