DAMMAM — A committee has been formed in the Eastern Province to investigate the death of a young man who was electrocuted. The team was formed under the direction of Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd, Emir of the Eastern Province. Prince Muhammad offered his heartfelt condolences to the family of the victim, promising that the incident will not pass without punishment.
Eyewitness testified that Salem was playing football when he collided with an electricity pylon and met his tragic death. Abdullah Qaid - one of the victim's friends - said he tried to rescue him but he felt the intensity of the electrical current passing through his body and had to stay away until authorities arrived. The committee, comprised of representatives from the Civil Defense, mayoralty and police, arrived at the seafront where the incident took place to look at the circumstantial evidence. They talked to the director of the private company tasked with the maintenance of the electrical facilities in the area to determine if the accident was caused by a short circuit. – SG
