Saleem died of uterine rupture during childbirth caused by a medical error committed by the medical team who operated on her at Najran Pediatric Hospital two weeks ago, a medical committee has found. The mother experienced low blood pressure and heart failure during labor which led to her death during normal vaginal birth, the committee said. The committee of senior consultants and specialists found out that the woman had premature birth pangs which usually are associated with some serious complications. The medical team of three doctors who operated on the woman have been detained for further investigations on the case by the Shariah Medical Commission in Asir which will deliver its final verdict on the case.
