RIYADH – Five-time Perfect 300 holder southpaw Ronald Bautista put on another sterling performance to bag the Bowler of the Week Award, while the fancied Itqan Tenpin Wizards, mentored by Ric Singson, romped away with the Team of the Week honor during the 11th week of the Itqan Bowlers Group (IBG) Friday League, 2nd Conference.
The league is sponsored by Hala International Mobily in partnership with Globe. IBG organizes the event at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC). Unstoppable Ronald Bautista exploded a towering four-game series scratch of 975 to power NBA team over Itqan Tornado 22-13. Bautista rolled a game high of 268 in the second game and rolled 246, 205 and 256 in the first and last two games. Compatriot Joel Batolina together with Ryan Inigo, Nelson de Vera and Joe Garrido supported NBA by contributing separate series of 839, 777, 742 and 727, respectively. Butch Mateo scored 845 points in four matches to lead the Itqan Tornado. League Perfect 300 holder Ric Urrutia Jr. and Ruben Babasa followed by downing separate series of 735 and 713. Gigi Enriquez had 469 points, while Belle Sabico and Zaldy Torres submitted 388 and 387 points, in order. Itqan Tenpin Wizards leaned on its fearsome troika of Jun Bantug, Reynald Medina and Doy de Moral as it repulsed a stubborn SABB Strikers 24-17 to grab the Team of the Week award. Bantug downed 899 points to be on top in Itqan Tenpin Wizards. Medina and Del Moral followed Bantug by tallying 890 and 867. Arnold Jesena impressed by posting 819 points. Team mentor Ric Singson added 788 points. Resty de Jesus seared the lanes to top-score in SABB Strikers by hitting 923 points. De Jesus had scores of 190, 268, 239 and 210. Francis Guron and Freddie Solomon recorded 830 and 805, while Hathem Yahya and Mike Benito shared 607 and 534. Allan John Ofreneo scored 340 points.
League leader D'Pirates continued its winning streak by dismantling Pinbusters 24-13. Bembol Velasco scored 903, Celis Viloria 838, Erwin Nacario 820 and Andro Tismo 768. Fareed Aquino and Edwin Atienza chipped in with 440 and 370, respectively. D'Pirates still holds the No. 1 spot after the 11th week of action. Lefty Arnold Quindara and Fhel Ramos sparkled to be at helm in Pinbusters. Quindara scored 892 points, while Ramos sealed 846 points. Fathi Abdulaziz and Hani Al-Nasleh had 675, 785 and 723 points, while Marvin Arocena rolled 675 points.
Salying Kits and Air21 recorded separate victories against Roll and Bowl 21-15 and Magnificent-5 21-10. In other results: Saco beat Xperts 16-11, Great Balls of Fire beat Bankrun 15-12. – SG
