RIYADH – NBA team keglers sustained their winning run on a high note to clinch the Best Team of the Week Awards. Likewise, veteran and multi-talented Ernee Noto shared awards with NBA by bagging the Bowler of the Week honor in the 5th week action of the Hala International, Mabuhay Mobily and Globe Friday Bowling League. The event is organized by the Itqan Bowling Group (IBG) and sponsored by Hala International and Mabuhay Mobily in partnership with Globe. The games are being held at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC). The win by NBA, the Best Bowler of the Week Awardees against the Salyng Kits, 25-13 came through the spectacular performances of Nelson de Vera and Joel Batolina. De Vera pumped in 913 series in four games, while Batolina sealed 900 series in four outings. Splendid support was extended by fellow members Ryan Inigo (566), Bandar Al-Marshad (551), Earl de Vera (469), Mike Ecalnir (421) and Joe Garrido (371). NBA, mentored by Nelson, thereby climbed-up the ladder to occupy the fourth spot. For the Salyng Kits at helm was Edgar Buenaventura who toppled a four-game series of 869. Following him was team mentor Benny Mondoy with 869 points. Larry Mondoy and Alex Tajan followed Benny by pumping in series of 569 and 545. Joel Lambo had 448 points to be next to Larry and Alex. Atoi Ramos and Chito Llagas shared series of 343 and 335 in two outings. D'Pirates, piloted by Edwin Atienza, halted the Experts, 24-13, through the heroics of Rodel Molina (843), Johnny Penicilla (826), Atienza (814) and Celis Viloria (762). Fareed Aquino and Dennis Gabriel added separate series of 410 and 402 in two games. D'Pirates still occupies the top spot after the fifth week of action. Best Bowler of the Week awardees, the well-known Ernee Noto led the Experts by pouring a remarkable four-game series scratch of 916 on lines of 267, 212, 224 and 213. Hard-hitting Roger Butler came in next with a score of 867 points, while Witt Kirby scored 696 to follow Butler. Anas Hamid and Hassan Al-Janoubi shot 371 and 363, respectively, while lefty Frank Ranera and Joseph Osbone shot 357 and 323 in two games. The Pinbusters also took bowling spotlight by rolling past Saco, 25-11. Arnold Quindara and Mel Ancheta helped Pinbusters win the game by knocking down 886 and 834 points, respectively. The tandem of Manny Lebrilla and Fathi Abdulaziz submitted separate series of 812 and 779. Lulu Quejada submitted 775. Saco team mentor Ferdie dela Rosa led by posting 884 points and was followed by George Sto. Domingo (778), Jim dela Rosa (773) and Jun Sebastian (747). Fred Zacarias had 401 points, while Nickson Mesa rolled 282 with handicaps in one game. Itqan Tornado, under the helm of Belle Sabico, outsmarted Bankrun of Angel Casal, 24-11. Butch Mateo and Perfect 300 holder Ric Urrutia Jr. led Itqan Tornado by posting series of 886 and 834 in four matches. The combination of Ruben Babasa and Gigi Enriquez supported Itqan Tornado by adding series of 790 and 780, while Zaldy Torres had 600 points. Belle shared 176 point in one outing. At the helm in Bankrun was Jojo de Silva with 795 points. Following him were Dawood Sereno (697), Sam Alinsod (571), Gerry Ayonon (432), Angelo Train (402), Jay Salandan (371) and Angel Cassi (358).
