RIYADH — A team from the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh led by Consul Roussel R. Reyes served 785 during a consular outreach mission to Al-Khobar on June 28 - 29 at Al Jazeerah International School. The team encoded 481 e-passport applications, processed 12 lost passports and processed 245 notarial papers. The team also authenticated five documents, 18 reports of birth, and 24 passport extensions. Ambassador Ezzedin H. Tago, who was in Al-Khobar during the weekend personally thanked the community leaders and volunteers in the Eastern Province for tirelessly helping the embassy consular team during all the consular outreach missions. He particularly thanked AFSCOM, SAHI, OFW Congress, APO Eastern Chapter and other groups who helped the team. The next Embassy on Wheels will be in Al-Khobar, Eastern Province on July 12 - 13 at the Al Jazeera International School Dammam in Al Rakah, Al-Khobar. The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh has suspended E-Passport appointments through SMS or text messages effective June 1 for both consular outreach and for appointments in Riyadh. This temporary suspension has been implemented to unclog the overbooking of appointments due to multiple bookings made by some applicants. All applicants seeking renewal for their passports should schedule an appointment through the embassy's website www.philembassyriyadh.org. The online appointment system allows the passport applicant to choose the date and time of their preferred appointment, and confirms through an email. All those who need replacements for lost passports or new passports for infants do not need an appointment, they may proceed directly to the counter to obtain the supporting documents for a passport. – SG
