DAMMAM: Starting this year, the consular outreach mission of the Philippine Embassy in Eastern Province, popularly known as the Embassy on Wheels (EOW), will be implementing an appointment system for its passport services. The adoption of the appointment system, for applying or renewing passports, is meant to ensure Filipino workers do not have to queue at the venue 12 hours before the opening of the EOW. The Philippine Embassy announced that applicants renewing their passports must apply directly either by e-mail or by SMS (text). Applicants applying by email should send their full name, contact number, and the city where they reside to [email protected]. By SMS (text), applicants should send a text message to 054-0269731 with the following: EOW (space) full name (space) city in Saudi Arabia. For example: EOW Jose Cruz Dammam. The list of those who are given appointments will be posted on the embassy website (www.philembassy-riyadh.org), one week before officials visit the International Philippine School in Al Khobar (IPSA). Those not listed will be served at the next visit of the embassy team. The next Embassy on Wheels visit to Al-Khobar will be on Jan. 27 to 28 at the IPSA.
