Khobar were able to avail of consular services on Feb. 9-10 and Feb. 23-24, respectively. Led by Consul Mohd Noordin Lomondot, the head of the Philippine Embassy's Consular Services Section, a team traveled to Buraidah in the central region of Qassim and extended services to Filipinos in the area at Al Salam Hotel. The team included Saipoden Manalao, Melchor Balladolid, Acas Bayabao Jr., and Eva Dionio. A team from the Labor Section in charge of services to the Central Region led by Welfare Officer Eduardo Mendoza Jr. joined them. The team was able to encode 593 electronic passport (ePassport) applications and one lost passport, and processed eight notarials, eight authentication documents, six birth registrations and 13 passport amendments/extensions. The consular outreach mission in Al-Khobar, meanwhile, served a record high of 1,373 Filipinos. Eight members of the Embassy on Wheels (EoW) team traveled 400 kilometers to offer consular services at Al Jazeera International Philippine School Dammam, at Al-Rakah District in Al-Khobar. The team was able to encode 964 ePassport applications and three lost passports, and processed 253 notarials, three authentications, 27 birth registrations and 123 passport amendments/extensions. The success of the Embassy on Wheels (EoW) was made possible with the valuable help and support of community leaders and volunteers in Buraidah and Al-Khobar. The next EoW will be in Hail on March 15-16 at Al Jabalain Hotel and does not require appointments.
