Indian Republic Day A flag hoisting ceremony will be held at 8.00 A.M. Thursday (Jan. 26) in the premises of the Consulate General of India, Madinah Road, Jeddah. Faiz Ahmad Kidwai, Consul General of India, will hoist the National Flag. All Indian nationals, persons of Indian origin and friends of India can attend the ceremony. Indian consular visit A team of Consular Officials of Embassy of India, Riyadh, will visit Dammam from Wednesday to Friday to provide consular assistance to Indian nationals at Dammam Deportation Center with a view to issue Emergency Certificates to them. This will ensure their hassle free departure from the Kingdom. On Wednesday, the team will visit the Dammam Deportation Center and on Thursday and Friday, the Consular Official will provide attestation service at VFS's Passport Application Center at Dammam at Shop No.5, Ground Floor, Al Rashid Al Mutlaq Building, Al Adama Street, Dammam. Embassy on Wheels The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh annnounces its schedule for the upcoming outreach consular services (Embassy on Wheels) in Eastern Region in cooperation with AFCSCCOM, the Filipino community organization in the Eastern Region.The venue of the mobile consular services will be at the Al-Jazeera International Philippine School Dammam in Al-Rakah Distrct, Al-Khobar. Applicants must bring their old passport and a photocopy of the first page of their passport. There is no need to submit photos.(Passport fee SAR 240.00) For those who could not be accomodated and their passport had already expired or about to expire within six months, they may request for passport extension.(Extension fee SAR 80.00) Those not included in the attached appointment list will be automatically scheduled for the next mobile. Visit date: Jan. 26. Indian Food Festival The Consulate General of India together with Elaf Jeddah Hotel will be organizing Indian Food Festival at Elaf Jeddah Hotel, Red Sea Mall. On menu will be an array of delicacies from different regions of India. With arrangement for live cooking demonstration, the festivities are a must-visit for not only the gourmet but also those wishing to experience an exclusive and sumptuous dining palate all in the heart of the city. The festivities commence on January 24 and will continue till January 28, 2012 (2000 hrs to 0200 hrs) at the hotel. Shehnai, Qawwali nite Coinciding with Republic Day celebrations, Embassy of India has organized a cultural evening presented by a five-member Shehnai group led by Pandit Daya Shankar and an eight-member Qawwali group led by Jamil Ahmad. Both performing groups are visiting the Kingdom from India. Both Shehnai and Qawwali groups will perform in Jeddah from January 24 to 27 and in Riyadh January 28-29.
