China Southern Airlines clinches Afternoon title

China Southern Airlines comfortably beat My Care Hala Green by seven wickets to bag the WPCA Afternoon crown in their debut participation here recently.
Elsewhere AOT beat Nestle Milo, Fuchs Al-Hamrani got the better of Munch Bakery, AMI Juffali beat Marine Services and UCC went down to Al-Safree in the Summer Afternoon tournament.
The title match saw My Care Hala Green bat first. After starting reasonably well, it lost three quick wickets to fall to 72-3 after the openers Salman (27) and Azhar (23) put on a 51-run partnership. Hassan Malik (51) and Farhad 49 not out took the tally to 191-7 in the allotted quota of 20 overs. Skipper Abdullah Zahid grabbed 3-38, Awais 2-24 and Farooq one.
China Southern Airlines in reply was tottering at 20-2 when Owais played a patient innings of 63 for the third wicket with Asim (36). Skipper Abdullah Zahid (57 not out) and Owais (76 not out) then took the team to the target of 192 runs for the loss of three wickets. Owais scalped 2-27 and Osama got the other wicket. The match was supervised by Dr. Sayed Ziauddin and Akram.
In the Summer Afternoon tournament AMI Juffali beat Marines Services by three runs. AMI Juffali, batting first, posted 131-9 through Rafi Gujjar (36), and Imaad and Mustafa (19 each). Shakeel took 4-22. Marine Services, in reply, was restricted to 128-8 as Rafi Gujjar scalped 3-31, Zafar 2-24 and Imaad 2-25. Shakeel made 34 and Sohail 22.
Fuchs Alhamrani beat Munch Bakery by six wickets. Munch Bakery, batting first, piled up 160-9 through Nabil (45), Tariq Jamal (42) and Amanullah (23). Khoban grabbed 4-38. Fuchs Alhamrani was home with 163-4 in 84 balls. Farid scored 63 and Irfan remained unbeaten on 78. Zainulhuda had 2-21.
Al-Safree beat United Cricket Club by three wickets. United Cricket Club put on 159-9 in 20 overs through Sarfaraz (34 not out), Rehman (23) and Irfan (21) as Mubashir grabbed 4-29, Manjeet 2-31 and Abdulrauf 2-30. Al-Safree reached the victory target of 160 for the loss of seven wickets as Zahid hit 67 and Manjeet 23.
AOT thrashed Nestle Milo by eight wickets. Nestle Milo, batting first, posted 147-9 in 20 overs as Nadeem Arshad scored 49, Aijaz 19 and Anas 15. Hamza Shahid took 3-15 and Shahid 2-18. AOT in reply reached 153 for the loss of two wickets. Shahid plundered 85, Zakir Habeeb made 30 as the two put on 115 runs for the first wicket. Nasir took 2
