Crown Steel wins in Prince Faisal Cup

JEDDAH: Crown Steel defeated IDB in 40-over Prince Faisal Cup, while AMI Juffali downed Safa Al-Bawadi, Crown Blue was beaten by Pak XI and Nestle Milo had the last laugh against Al-Safree-XI in the Prince Faisal Afternoon Tournament.
Al-Mazroi-XI, My Care White and Universal Coil won their respective matches in the Prince Faisal Morning League. All the three leagues are sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center and organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).
Crown Steel beat IDB by 164 runs in the 40-over tournament. Choosing to bat first Crown Steel racked up 384-6 runs through Hammad Saeed (169 off 90 balls). He added 218 runs for the third wicket with Abid (79) and then 72 runs with Irman (41). Yasir took 3-90 and Shoaib 2-35. IDB started its chase poorly but Shakeel (56) added 94 for the second wicket with Yassir (37) before the side lost quick wickets to stand at 131-5. Later Waseem hit 51 but wickets kept tumbling at the other end to some accurate bowling by Shafiq (3-27), Zaheer (2-46) and Hussain Bhatti (2-37). IDB was bundled out for 220.
In the first encounter in the Prince Faisal Afternoon Cup AMI beat Safa Al-Bawadi by six wickets. Batting first Safa Al-Bawadi piled up 199-3 in 18 overs. Kashif hit 57, Tahir 69 and Iqbal remained unbeaten on 54. AMI achieved the target of 200 for the loss of four wickets as Nadeem made 48, Rafi Gujjar contributed 42 and Imaad scored 34. Yasin took 2-39.
The second encounter saw Nestle Milo thrash Al-Safree by seven wickets. Al-Safree was bundled out for 175 with skipper Manjeet making 62, Wasiq 25 and Aftab 26. Geyaan grabbed 4-27 as Abdullah Zahid and Awais had identical figures of 2-34. In response Nestle Milo was home with five balls to spare and seven wickets in hand. Awaiz compiled 69, Abdullah Zahid remained unbeaten on 56 and Faheem scored 24 to get to 176-3.
Pak-XI handed Crown Blue a five-wicket thrashing. Crown Blue made 183-9 in 20 overs with Rashid making 48, Danish 37, Saleem 35 and Zubair 26. Shahid Jr. took 3-14 and Shahid Sr. 2-25. Pak-XI in reply reached the target 184-5 as Umair remained not out on 88, Nasik hit 36 and Waseem 21.
In the Morning Tournament Al-Mazroi-XI defeated Usman Gems Tigers by four wickets. Tigers put up a target of 144-9 through Farid Afridi 65 and Zahid Naved 27. Khalil Dawre picked up 3-17 and Faisal 2-32. Al-Mazroi in reply was in trouble from the start with 50-5 but the middle order contributed some runs through Faisal (30), Faizan (35), Salman (25) and Sajid (20 not out) to get to the target of 148 for 6.
In another match My Care White beat My Care Green by four wickets. Green scored 151-5 as Uzair hit an unbeaten 52, Adalat 34 and Azhar 29. Furqan took 3-18. My care White reached the target of 152-6 in 100 balls as Abdul Moeed plundered 56, Adil 20 and Afroz 26. Majeed grabbed 3-30.
The final match of the day saw Universal coil beat Jeddah Lord by 33 runs. Universal coil piled up 159-4 as Khadem remained unbeaten on 65 and Atif scored 34 while Laiq remained unbeaten on 29. Farhan took 2-29. Jeddah Lords in response was bundled out for 126 as Navid grabbed 3-28, Yaser 2-14 and Shahbaz 2
