Safree-XI, Hala Academy came out on top against My Care Hala Green, Pak Mecca-XI thrashed Pak Kashmir, AMI Juffali humbled Munch Bakery and Contraco defeated GGI in the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) Afternoon League. The first match saw Hala Academy beat My Care Hala Green by four wickets. Batting first My care Hala Green scored 152-6. Salman hit 50, while Azher added 43. Ramazan took 2-19 and Haider 2-25. Hala Academy Blue started disastrously and was tottering at 2-3 and that too a hat trick for Azher. Despite the setback Ramazan made 40 and Abdul Aleem remained unbeaten on 52 to take their team to the target of 153-6. Azher finished with figures of 4-34. The second match also saw Elaf Advance beat Al-Safree-XI by four wickets. Al-Safree XI, electing to bat first scored 146-8 with Aftab Malik scoring 33, Manjeet Kumar 32 and Samiullah 25. Hasnain took 3-17, Ejaz Butt 2-32 and Siddique 2-26. Elaf Advance was home with four wickets in hand thanks to Ali making 32, Usman Gulab 32 and Ejaz Butt 25 not out. Abdul Rauf scalped 2-21 and Manjeet 2-32. Pak Mecca-XI thrashed Pak Kashmir by nine wickets. Pak Kashmir opting to bat first scored 162-5 as the consistent Ahmed Shah remained unbeaten on 53 and Aamir hit 39. Ayyub grabbed 4-20. Pak Mecca-XI in reply had Yasir firing on all cylinders. He hit a magnificent ton off 43 deliveries to finish his innings at 105 as the team scored 165-1. Omer added 23 runs and Umair 20. Another match saw Contraco beat GGI by 33 runs. Contraco piled up 175-5 through Kaleem smashing an unbeaten 85 and Khurram making 34. Abid took 3-38. GGI responded with 19 runs in the first over with skipper Pervez hammering 73 off 33 balls. He, however, did not get any support from the other end as the team could reach only 142-8 in the allotted overs. Kaleem took 3-24, Muno 2-24 and Iqbal 2-17. AMI Juffali handed Munch Bakery an eight-wicket hammering. AMI Juffali, responding to Munch Bakery target of 144-9, was home with 142-2 with Shuboor not out on 55 and Imran 59. Together they added 113 runs for the unbroken third-wicket partnership. Earlier Saleem hit 30 for Munch Bakery as Shaboor scalped 2-23.
