The Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) organized a grand prize distribution ceremony in this city recently. Dignitaries and sports officials awarded RCA players for eight RCA Tournaments. The event was sponsored by the Banque Saudi Fransi and by Chairman of the Executive Council of Saudi Cricket Center (SCC) Abdul Qadeer Mirza, also RCA President. RCA Sec. Gen. Dr. Ahmer Waheed acknowledged all distinguished guests and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prince Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, RCA President Mirza and RCA Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mohammad Nadeem Babar for their support and commitment to RCA's mission and vision. Dr. Waheed talked about future plans and programs. He hailed the efforts of Joint Sec./Head of Discipline Nasser Abbasi in promoting cricket and thanked event organizers, including RCA VP Karim Khan, Umpiring Coordinator Iqbal Shahid, Additional Sec. Omar Zafar, Web Administrator Upol Zarief, and Khawar Abbas. RCA COO Babar, RCA President Mirza and RCA Patron Mohammed Anwar all profusely thanked RCA Patron-in-Chief Prince Abdulaziz for his support and guidance in the promotion and development of cricket in the Kingdom. Nadeem Nadwi, SCC CEO and chief guest, announced that RCA will hold two inter-regional events in 2012 with EPCA and WPCA teams playing, and that SCC will conduct elementary umpiring courses in March. He also assured RCA players of opportunities to play at the international level. Outstanding senior cricketers received shields of appreciation. Shields of honor were presented to Prince Abdulaziz, Nadwi, ACC Development Manager Iqbal Sikander, Anwar and Mirza. All RCA teams and the best umpires received souvenirs and prizes. Shehryar Memorial T-20 Cup 2011 — Super, Premier and Amateur League winners: Pak Shaheen, Knight Riders and Attieh Steel, respectively; runners-up: Al Eid, Amir Holidays and Riyadh Fighters. Shehryar Memorial T-10 Cup 2011 — Pak Shaheen (winner), Lahore Lions (runner-up). RCA T-20 Cup 2011 — Super, Premier and Premier-1 League winners: Pak Shaheen, Amir Holidays and Riyadh Fighters, respectively. RCA Thursday League-III 2011 — Pak Shaheen (winner), Ayoun Al Badr (runner-up). Two RCA 3-day matches — Winners: Pak Shaheen and Lahore Badshah; runners-up: Cricket Samarwa and Black Caps. RCA T-10 Cup 2011 — Pak Shaheen (winner), GamePro (runner-up).
