The Saudi Food and Drug Authority has warned consumers against using three kohl products – Red Athmad Kohl, Natural Black Athmad Kohl and Original Black Athmad Kohl. The agency said the products have been found to contain large quantities of lead and arsenic. Their formulas go against Gulf standards and cosmetic specifications. The SFDA is coordinating with relevant authorities to withdraw the products from the local market. The agency has advised consumers not to use these products and to visit sfda.gov.sa for more information. The SFDA tested a total of 46 kohl products for contamination.
