Health authorities in Rafha have withdrawn from the market large quantities of a locally produced kohl (eye mascara) product after it was found to contain up to ten times the permitted quantities of lead. Al-Madina newspaper reported Sunday that municipality officials in the region of Rafha, located between Hafr Al-Batin and Arar, had withdrawn the Rani, Al-Athmad Al-Aswad, and Al-Hashimi brands from stores in the area. Some of the products were also found to contain bacteria.
