JEDDAH — Talented students of City School International displayed amazing flair and creativity at their annual Science & Art Exhibition organized by the school in its premises recently. Students and teachers worked hard and the efforts showed in the creativity of the exhibits, taking parents, teachers and peers on a unique journey of knowledge, wonder and excitement. An array of colorful and spectacular models and charts on different topics adorned the school campus. From Kindergarten to Grades I and II, the teachers aided their students in enhancing their exhibits with imaginative crafts and activities. Classes were decorated with handmade dream-catchers, lanterns, banners and much more! When asked about their projects, the young students would enthusiastically reply with objective and accurate descriptions of what their creations were about, demonstrating true comprehension of key concepts. Whether it was an art or science centred design, the students were able to articulate their ideas with great confidence. The Five Pillars of Islam demonstrated by Grade I & II was especially impressive. Classes from Grade IV to VI chose the interactive approach; their themes captioned as science and magic and the inside story, presented the school with different, colourful science experiments, merging fun with education. The seniors, Prep I and II, both held their ground by establishing the science circus and the knowledge carnival respectively. These focused on the wider scope of arts and science, producing models and explanatory charts made and explained by the students. The common strain running through the exhibition was the City School's vision that learning and education aren't just restricted to textbooks and classrooms; hands-on experience, creating charts, building projects and conducting experiments hardwires the knowledge and principles of science and scientific method in the child for life while providing the child a platform to build skills and confidence. With flying colors, decorative science charts and knowledgeable students, the school succeeded in delivering information to every student and parent with a smile.
