RIYADH — The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced the precautionary closure of two food factories and several branches of a food company following reports of suspected food poisoning cases. In a statement on Sunday, the ministry clarified that its field teams, in coordination with municipal offices in several regions, immediately responded to the alerts and initiated official procedures to safeguard public health. Most of the individuals affected by the suspected poisoning have recovered, while the remaining cases are in stable condition and receiving appropriate medical care, the ministry confirmed. Working jointly with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), authorities launched an investigation into the reported incidents, taking necessary precautions including the temporary closure of the company's manufacturing facilities and retail outlets. The closures will remain in effect until all verification and testing processes are complete. The ministry reaffirmed that consumer health and safety remain its top priority and that it will continue to take all necessary actions — in coordination with relevant authorities — to ensure the safety of food products available to the public. It also urged the public to avoid circulating unverified information and to rely only on official channels for updates on the situation.
