Pakhtoon Khawa, Nournet, Success AMAQ Cup champs

New emerging teams conquered the RCL AMAQ T20 Tournament 2017, sponsored by AMAQ Contracting Company and organized by Riyadh Cricket League (RCL) here at RCL Complex.

The finals were witnessed by a big crowd and supporters from each team. Shamshad Siddiqui, owner and CEO of AMAQ Contracting, was the chief guest along with other dignitaries.

Prize Distribution ceremony started with the recitation of Holy Qur'an by Zakaria. RCL CEO Jawaid Munawar conducted the ceremony by briefing the RCL activities and introducing the sponsor. He underlined the major improvement made on the RCL infrastructure such as new pavilions, stage and grounds.

Hanif Baber, senior VP, and his team made all the arrangements for the finals by rolling the grounds and setting up areas for the supporters.

Siddiqui congratulated the RCL committee for successfully conducting the event and thanked RCL for bringing the youngsters from different nationalities at a sporting venue by providing excellent facilities to play cricket. RCL Senior Advisor Razaur Rahman thanked the sponsor and requested Siddiqui to support and arrange an international tour to Pakistan for RCL team in future. Rahman congratulated the emerging teams Nournet and Success XI for their stellar show.

Super League

Pakhtoon Khawa CC prevailed over Mehran CC in one of the most thrilling and nail-biting match by 1 wicket. Batting first, Mehran CC scored 150 runs in 20 overs. Akthar Zaib was the top scorer with 26 runs. Ibraheem grabbed 3 wickets for 18 runs.

In reply, Pakhtoon Khawa responded with a blistering start as the openers scored quick runs in power-play. The middle order finished off the game as Naveed scored 45 to complete the victory in the last over with 2 balls remaining.

Brief scores: Mehran 150 in 20 overs (Akthar 26, Usman and Aqib 25 each; Ibrahim 3 wickets). Pakhtoon Khawa CC 152 in 19.4 overs (Naveed 45, Ibraheem 25, Arshad 23; Zakir 2 wicket). Man of the Match: Ibraheem.

Premier Blue League

NourNet CC edged past by 3 runs over Shaheen Strikers CC in their maiden final at RCL. Batting first, NourNet scored 187 in 20 overs. Openers showed some class and gave a good start as Zahid scored 74 and Hafeez 34. Abdul Rehman was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets.

In reply, Shaheen Strikers CC middle order showed some resilience as the openers were sent back in the first over. Amir Rafique scored a brilliant 61 and the game went into final over for decision. Irshad took 3 wickets and restricted Shaheen Strikers CC to 184.

Brief scores: NourNet CC 187 (Zahid 74, Hafeez 38, Naveed 22; Abdul Rehman 2 wickets). Shaheen Strikers CC 184 in 20 overs (Amir 61, Israr 44, Waheed 40; Irshad 3 wickets and Naveed 2 Wkts). Man of the Match: Zahid.

Premier Green League

Success XI CC outplayed South Indian Stunerz CC by 54 runs and maintained its winning streak and completed its maiden final victory.

Batting First, Success XI CC scored a massive total of 188. Shoaib (45) and Zubair (65) had contributed with the bat, while Younus took 3 wickets.

In reply, South Indian Stunerz CC were restricted to 134 as the openers fell in quick session. Younus showed some resilience by batting with Khaleel (18) and scored crucial 24 runs. For Success, Zubair, Idris and Imran bragged 2 wickets each.


Brief scores: Success XI CC 188-8 (Zubair 65, Shoaib 45; Younus 3 wickets). South Indian Stunerz CC 134-9 (Younus 24, Khaleel 18, Azeem 17; Zubair 2 wickets, Idris 2 and Imran 2). Man of the Match: Zubair.
