Security patrols were able to arrest one of the Africans who attacked a policeman at the Jeddah Corniche in Al-Hamra district on Tuesday. A manhunt has been launched to apprehend the rest of the attackers. The incident happened when a secret police officer, a corporal, was sitting in his vehicle monitoring the crowd at the Corniche. An African youth, identified as 25-year-old Siddiq, approached the policeman and started beating him without any provocation. When the policeman got out of the vehicle, another attacker hit him with his quad bike causing him to fall down. The policeman was rushed to a hospital where he is being treated for knee injuries. The security patrols were able to identify all the attackers. They were also able to reach the father and brother of the young African who hit the policeman with his quad bike. The entire incident was recorded by a Saudi woman, who posted the video on social media. The video clip has since gone viral. Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal asked the Jeddah police to launch a massive manhunt to apprehend the other culprits and to take necessary action against them.
